Timberlane Youth Soccer League: FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions:
What is the cost per child per season?
For U6 through U12 it is $50.00 for the first child. For U14/U16 it is $65.00 for the first child per season. There is a $5.00 multi-child discount (first child is full-price and each additional child within the same family is discounted).
What days of the week are the games played?
Games for all age groups are on Saturday between 8:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. Game times will vary week to week for U10 and above. TYSL tries to make it fair by having every team play in each of the time slots at some point in the season for the divisions that rotate times.
How are practices handled?
U6 and U8 hold both practice and games on Saturday mornings.
U10, U12 and U14/16 teams practice once during the week with the day, time and place determined by the coach.
Where are the games played?
- U6 – Ed Garvey Recreational Facility, Sandown
- U8 – Ed Garvey Recreational Facility, Sandown
- U10/U12 – Woodlock Field (small), Atkinson
- U14/U16 – Woodlock (large), Atkinson
*See the Directions page.
What equipment will my child need?
Shin guards with no exposed plastic or sharp edges (MANDATORY for practices and games for all age groups)
Sneakers for U6 (CLEATS ARE NOT ALLOWED!!!)
U8 and above - Cleats are optional but highly recommended. For safety reasons, football and baseball cleats which have a cleat at the toe are not allowed.
Soccer ball
U6 and U8 use size #3 balls
U10/U12 use size #4 balls
U14/U16 use size #5 balls
Water bottle
No jewelry is allowed during practices or games. T-shirts are provided by the league for U6 through U12 players. U14/U16 players receive soccer jerseys.
Can my child play up in an older age group?
Yes, if you feel your child can handle the older age skill-wise and size-wise. You need to make that clear on the Registration form.
What towns are served by TYSL?
Primarily Sandown, Danville, Plaistow and Atkinson. However, we do have players from neighboring towns and we do not exclude anyone.
When will I hear from my child’s coach?
You should get a call about 2 weeks before the beginning of the season.
If my child decides not to play can I get my money back?
While we understand that sometimes conflicts arise, the league policy states that fees are non-refundable. Once a player signs up, the league incurs expenses for that player in the form of shirts, NH state insurance, field maintenance fees, referee fees and trophies. In addition, a slot that might have been offered to another player becomes unavailable. |
