This year we have a very special recognition award to present!
In their teen years kids have lots of choices of how to spend their free time- they may decide to work , play sports, or just hang out with friends. TYSL was fortunate enough that this high school student wanted to volunteer his time coaching youth soccer. The funny thing is, he actually quit playing soccer at age 6- it wasn’t something he was interested in doing.
Then as he was entering high school, he decided to give it another try to see how things went. He worked hard and made the high school team, as well as playing in TYSL. Although he admits it was rough getting back onto the field, once he was there – he was hooked.
He became a referee, with both TYSL and Granite State Soccer. In addition to being an honor student, he has spent the past two years coaching for TYSL- last year in U8 and this year in U10. As parents we know the time/commitment it takes to be a coach and knowing we will be at the games with our children, we often volunteer. For a teenager to volunteer their time, unsolicited, says a lot about the character of this young man and we truly appreciate the time he has given to the league.
This fall he will be attending UNH and we wish him nothing but the best.
Thank you for your dedication and hard work as a coach for TYSL. It is our pleasure to present a $500.00 scholarship to : ANDREW BREED
